Great Occations

Company

Great Occasions is an online-only company that sells artificial Christmas trees, pre-lit Christmas yard art, holiday garlands, wreaths, lighting and more. Due to the intensely seasonal nature of the business, it is vital that the company establish and maintain a strong online presence in the face of stiff competition, in order to be able to capitalize in the holiday season.

Objective

Plans for Campaign/Issues at beginning

  • To Increase Rankings on Search Engine Results Page
  • To Increase Overall Online Visibility

Strategy

The campaign focused on three main areas of improvement for the client. These were content, code and inbound linking.

The creation of several pages of new content ensured there was more relevant, keyword-based text on the website. This meant search engines gave the website more credibility in its field, which in turn helped to elevate the company in the search engine rankings.

Optimizing the code of the website to allow more efficient crawling by the search engine "spiders" was an important part of the process. SEOMatrix, LLC's team of Technical Analysts optimized every page of the Great Occasions website individually, making sure the code of each page was relevant to the subject matter.

Finally, an ongoing effort to create more inbound links was embarked upon which resulted in more than 50 good-quality one-way links being approved by website owners.

Results

Over the course of the campaign, SEOMatrix was very successful in increasing the overall online visibility of the business. The visibility score of Great Occasions increased by more than 44%, and 67 keywords increased their rankings in the search engines. Furthermore, traffic to the site increased by 157% compared to the same time period the previous year.

The owner of the business was sufficiently impressed with the results that Great Occasions and SEOMatrix have been able to formalize the continuation of their relationship and hope to make the company more visible and even more successful as Holiday Season 2008 comes around.
